1. Data protection at a glance

This website is a personal portfolio. Protecting your personal data is important to us. We process personal data only as described below and in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In short: we use no analytics, no tracking, no advertising cookies, and no external fonts or scripts. Embedded videos and audio (YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud) load only after you actively click them — until then, no data is sent to those providers.

2. Responsible party

The party responsible for processing data on this website is:

Cornelius Dämmrich, c/o Rechtsanwältin Kristin Kirsch, Max-Josefs-Platz 16, 83022 Rosenheim, Germany. Email: mail@zomax.net

The responsible party is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The servers are located in Germany. When you visit this site, Hetzner processes connection data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in providing this website reliably and securely).

4. Server log files

The hosting infrastructure automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits automatically: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the server request, and IP address.

This data is not merged with other data sources. It is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the security of the website). Log data is stored only for as long as necessary for these purposes and then deleted.

5. Embedded content (click-to-load)

Some project pages contain videos or audio from YouTube, Vimeo, and SoundCloud. These are not loaded automatically. You first see a local preview image with a play button; only when you click it is a connection to the respective provider established and the content loaded.

This means no data (including your IP address) is sent to YouTube, Vimeo, or SoundCloud until you actively click to play. YouTube is embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and Vimeo with Do Not Track enabled.

Once you click to play, the respective provider receives your IP address and may set cookies. We have no influence over this. The legal basis for loading embedded content after your click is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give by clicking play. For details, see the providers’ privacy policies: YouTube/Google (policies.google.com/privacy), Vimeo (vimeo.com/privacy), SoundCloud (soundcloud.com/pages/privacy).

6. Contact form

If you use the contact form on this site, the details you provide (your name, email address, message, and the “favourite film” field) are processed solely to handle your inquiry and any follow-up questions. The message is stored in our own content management system on our server (see “Hosting”); it is not sent to any third party. A short notification that a new message has arrived may be sent to our own mailbox — it contains no content from your message.

Legal basis: where your inquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; otherwise your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (given via the checkbox in the form) together with our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. To protect against automated spam, the form uses techniques that set no cookies and transmit no data to third parties.

We keep contact messages only for as long as necessary to handle your request; they are deleted once the matter is concluded, unless statutory retention periods require otherwise. You can ask us to delete your inquiry at any time (see “Your rights”).

7. Fonts and assets

All fonts and images are served directly from our own server. No external font services (such as Google Fonts) are used, so no data is transmitted to third parties for fonts or styling.

8. Cookies

This website does not set tracking or marketing cookies and does not use a consent banner, because no consent-requiring technologies are used. Any strictly technical storage is limited to what is necessary to operate the site.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15), to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21), and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at mail@zomax.net.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).

10. SSL/TLS encryption

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
